What to have to hand
Three things turn one visit into one visit rather than two, and they take a minute to find before you call.
- The model number. On a range or rangetop it is usually behind the lower kick panel or on the frame behind the door; on a built-in oven, on the door frame.
- What the equipment is actually doing — the noise, the smell, the error code on the panel, which burner or which cavity.
- What changed just before it started. A power cut, a gas shut-off, a remodel, a deep clean. It is the single most useful sentence you can give us.
